There is a decent amount of water resistance and three switchable EQ modes to match your tastes. Fit: They fit nicely in your ear but you may feel that maybe they will fall out. However, take them out on a workout and you’ll find them sticking to your ear, staying in their place. We took the Skullcandy’s Sesh Evo earphones on a run and tried to get them to move from our ears, but they stayed firmly in our ears. With that said, the fear of them falling will be a putt off for some people, but we couldn’t make them fall when we tested them out so there’s no reason for concern.

Design

The earbuds: The Skullcandy’s Sesh Evo earphones are compact, lightweight, and come with three extra pairs of silicone ear tips for different sizes of ears. The earpieces themselves are there to purchase in black, red, or green. The different sizes of ear tips will keep the earpieces secured to your ears, eliminating the fear of them falling out. The earbuds are out of plastic, but when holding them you there’s nothing that feels cheap about them. With these earbuds, you get 6mm drivers that come with a 32-ohm impedance, delivering a frequency range of 20Hz to 20kHz.

Waterproof: The earbuds come with an IP55 rating which means light splashes of water won’t do much harm to them. Although this rating is not much compared to other models, you’ll have no problem wearing them while taking a walk during a rainy day or cleaning the earbuds with a damp cloth. Just make sure to keep the case away from water as it’s not waterproofed.

The charging case: The case’s design is similar to most TWS earbuds you’ll find online nowadays. It’s compact and has LEDs on the front to tell you the battery level of the case. It’s made completely out of plastic but in no way feels cheap. The case is charged through a USB-C port which is located on the backside of the case.

Portability: The Skullcandy Sesh True Wireless Earbuds are both lightweight and portable. The case is small enough to comfortably sit in your pockets or your bag. Depending on where you order them from, you will also receive a small carrying case along with the Skullcandy Sesh True Wireless Earbuds.

Just like Skullcandy, HyperX cloud resolver S is a great pair of headphones to have the best music experience on a budget.

Stability: The stability is great with these earbuds. When wearing them, they don’t move around in your ears even when working out or jogging. They also come with buds of different sizes so they can fit comfortably regardless of how your ears are. All of this coupled with the IP55 rating, make these earbuds perfect for gym workouts.

Performance: The Sesh wireless earbuds are definitely not for audiophiles. The sound sounds similar to the Skullcandy on-ear headphones which are heavy on the bass. These earbuds are meant for casual music listeners as when compared to a pair of Seinheiser headphones, there is a significant difference to be noted.

Calls: Wireless earbuds are not known for their calling features. However, this pair of earbuds perform just fine. The people on the other side of the call had no issues hearing my voice, and the sound from the Sesh wireless earbuds was clear too. Each of the earbuds has a microphone which helps in delivering a clear voice.

Bluetooth connectivity: Similar to other earbuds on the market, the Sesh wireless earbuds will remember the last connected device and will reconnect to it first when turned on. They will also not connect to multiple devices at the same time, which is another common trait among TWS earbuds. When connecting them to your laptop, there might be some problems getting all the profiles working. At our first attempt, only the voice profile seemed to work but a simple forgetting and reconnecting the Sesh wireless earbuds on the laptop fixed the issue.

Another problem we faced with the Bluetooth connection was when we tested the earbuds with an iPhone 6. There were some connection drops from time to time that were not experienced on other devices. To find out if the connection problem was related to Apple devices, we connected it with an iPad Air2 and faced no issues of the sort.

Sound: As we discussed earlier, the Sesh wireless earbuds are heavy on the bass and the low tones. You can also sense a bit of flatness while listening to them but at this price range, they are fine. They cannot complete with the AirPods Pro but the sound is good nonetheless. However, we would want a little more personalization of its sound, and since these earbuds do not connect to the Skullcandy app, there will be no way to alter the levels or the sound.

Noise-cancellation: There is no sort of noise cancellation integrated into Skullcandy’s Sesh Evo earbuds. Skullcandy says that the design of the earbuds helps in reducing outside noise and it does work to some extent when listening to music on high volume, but lower down the volume and outside noise will creep in. The absence of noise cancellation is the most noticeable when nothing is playing on the earbuds.

You might also want to give a read to the best JBL headphones, the pair is supported by Amazon Alexa and Google Assistance.

Breathability: If you are one whose ears get pretty warm when using earbuds then these are perfect for you. They offer great breathability performance as almost no heat is trapped under the ear cups. When wearing them, you shouldn’t be able to tell a temperature difference, making for much more comfortable wear.

The Skullcandy Sesh has a remarkable breathability performance. Their small earbuds don’t trap heat under an ear cup and you shouldn’t feel a noticeable temperature difference when wearing them. This means you shouldn’t sweat more than usual when wearing them.

Battery: The Skullcandy Sesh True Wireless Earbuds have proved themselves to be a good choice so far, however, when it comes to the battery department they perform poorly. They can only be used for 3 hours straight and along with the case’s capacity, a total of 10 hours in total. Both of these numbers aren’t impressive at all when compared to other true wireless earphones. 3 hours aren’t enough for single-use and when it comes to the total 10 hours of playtime, that’s equally disappointing. The case is large enough to contain a battery twice the capacity it now has but unfortunately, Skullcandy didn’t make good use of this opportunity.

What other options are there?

The market is full of truly wireless earbuds right now and there are a lot of options you can go for. There are more premium options you can go for if you have a little more cash to spare or you can look for other options that are slightly cheaper with no compromise in quality.

Premium alternatives

One obvious choice you must consider is the AirPods Pro. The noise cancellation is amazing and they also sit better in your ears, removing the fear of them falling off. Another premium choice you can go for is the Sony WF-1000XM3 which is one of the best out there. They have superior noise cancellation and also come with a transparency mode.

You might also also want to read about the best Sennheiser headphones, they offer supreme noise cancellation support to the users.

A more affordable choice

The Creative Outlier Gold is a solid option here as they improve the original Outlier Air by having an impressive battery life. These earbuds come with AAC and aptX support too.

Calling quality

ear bud

The calling quality gets better with these wireless earbuds. These are reasonable and the microphone is quite fine. It is called an average ear bud when connected to Bluetooth earphones and the use of a microphone with good quality of voice and sound both.

There is no noise when you’re active on calling. It can be used in a noisy place with no distortion but a clear voice.

Should you buy them?

Considering everything we have discussed, the Skullcandy Sesh True Wireless Earbuds are a great deal at an affordable price tag.

They have their drawbacks but they don’t stop these earbuds from offering a nice sound for the money. You may not get active noise canceling or wireless charging, but is still reasonable. The sound is bass-heavy as most Skullcandy earbuds are, and they also average performance when making calls.
